In my observation it seems that many people have reached the same sort
of conclusion that I once held about God and His intentions: that is,
if God even exists, He has no great interest in man and clearly the
universe has no discernible purpose.
However,
by God's mercy, I eventually found out that my view was total error.
The real situation is that God went through the process of becoming
a Man, Jesus Christ, and then becoming the life-giving Spirit (1 Corinthians
15:45b), thus becoming available to enter anyone who will receive Him.
He then has a beachhead to saturate the believer with Himself. In addition,
each individual believer is actually a member of the corporate Body
of Christ. The Body may also be viewed as the bride who Christ presents
to Himself at His return to earth.
God's
attitude toward man may therefore be likened to that of a suitor toward
a bride and the purpose of the universe is to effect this union.
All
these things and much more are explained in detail in the writings of
Witness Lee and Watchman Nee, both of whom are very simple, clear expositors.
